The SEGVAUTO-5Gen program (SEGVAUTO 5Gen: Innovating for the Mobility of the Future) is a scientific research consortium operating from 2025 to 2028 under the coordination of the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM), bringing together nearly one hundred researchers from institutions such as the UCM, UAH, UC3M, and Nebrija University. This initiative is funded by the Community of Madrid through the Department of Education, Science, and Universities, and co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) as part of the grant program for R&D activities carried out by research groups in the region.

From a technical standpoint, the project is structured around the decarbonization and digitalization of transportation through the development of clean propulsion systems based on green hydrogen, electric propulsion, and hybrid architectures. It also focuses on autonomous and connected driving through multisensory technologies for environmental perception and prediction, algorithms adapted for complex real-time decision-making, and the integration of advanced vehicle communications using Digital Twins geared toward Mobility as a Service (MaaS).
