Correction and Standardization of Postal Addresses
Normalizator was a software research and development project (2008–2009) focused on the correction and standardization of mailing addresses. Funded by Sigma Data Services, S.L., the project was carried out through technology transfer agreements (Article 83 of the LOU) in direct collaboration with Carlos III University of Madrid. The system was designed to standardize and clean up address databases, significantly improving the quality of contact information and shipping logistics.
Sigma Data Services, S.L. is a Spanish company specializing in database management, processing, and enrichment, direct marketing, and data quality services. The Normalizator project was launched to improve the company’s commercial data cleansing tools, optimize mailings, and reduce returns due to incorrect or improperly formatted addresses.
